How many times have you felt like you can’t be bothered to exercise. It’s only after you force yourself to go, you feel so good, you wonder what was the problem in the first place.

But there are many more benefits to exercise, other than just weight loss or staying in shape, here are just a few:

Alertness

When you exercise, you increase blood flow to the brain, which can help sharpen your awareness and make you more alert.

Energy

Exercise can also give you more energy.

This is because exercise energises you rather than exhausts you. I know it doesn’t feel like it at the time!

Improves Mental Health

Regular exercise can help curb feelings of anxiety and depression and may also help you better deal with stress.

When you exercise, your brain releases serotonin that helps you feel better and improves your state of mind, making stress easier to handle.

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter in the brain that sends messages to the body to stimulate mood and emotion, according to the University of Cambridge.

10 minute exercises to try at home

Here’s are some 10 minute no equipment workouts that you can do at home.

If all it takes is 10 minutes of your time and a little bit of sweat to be less stressed and more efficient   it’s definitely worth setting that alarm 30 minutes earlier.
