Productivity hack 9 – Schedule your chores

Well this is one of my pet subjects and I can’t tell you about its virtues enough.
I used to spend all my free time cleaning the house (or at least that is how it felt) and it really did feel like a chore.
And still my house looked a mess.

Now after creating and following my cleaning routine, I feel like I am in complete control. And it only takes me 15 minutes a day to do!

My house always looks reasonable and I’m not embarrassed when friends pop over.

Get it over with early

I always try to do what needs to be done first thing in the morning so that it gets it out of the way and it sets the day off positively.
This also means that it frees my brain from having to think about what needs doing for the rest of the day. I now know what needs doing out of habit, and I have done it before I start work.
This means I can get on with clearing my to do list of other activities.
This is the routine I follow, but I am flexible enough so that if I miss something one day I can catch up later in the week.:
